Customers don’t always want to pay for a season ticket, membership or event in one go. And for venues, clubs and event organisations, being able to offer more flexible ways to pay can open up new opportunities to attract, retain and engage audiences. That’s why we’ve launched FTinstallments, a new payment capability built directly into the Future Ticketing platform, giving our clients more ways to structure payments and create the customer journeys that work for their audiences.
FTinstallments has been developed directly from conversations with our clients. They’ve been looking for more flexibility in how they sell tickets, memberships and other products, without having to rely on separate third-party systems to manage recurring or instalment payments. Now, those capabilities are built into the Future Ticketing dashboard.
More ways to pay, built into the platform
FTinstallments supports direct debit payments through BACS and SEPA, allowing customers to spread payments through established bank payment networks. For organisations looking to offer recurring card payments, subscription functionality also provides the ability to create card-based instalment journeys and recurring payment models. Because everything is managed within Future Ticketing, clients have greater visibility and control over their payment journeys, while reducing the need to manage separate payment solutions alongside their ticketing platform.
Beyond instalments
While spreading the cost of a ticket is an important part of FTinstallments, the opportunities go much further. Clients can use the functionality to create season ticket subscriptions, membership packages and international supporter memberships, giving them new ways to build longer-term relationships with their customers.
For a club, that could mean making a season ticket more accessible by spreading the cost across multiple payments. For another organisation, it could mean introducing premium membership tiers with exclusive benefits and access. For clubs with supporters around the world, it could provide the foundations for dedicated international membership offerings.
The important thing is that clients can build these experiences around their own audiences and commercial models.
“Future Ticketing has always been focused on listening to our clients and building technology around what they actually need,” said Liam Holton, CEO at Future Ticketing. “FTinstallments is a great example of that. Our clients told us they wanted more flexibility in how they offer tickets and memberships, and we’ve built that capability directly into the platform. It gives organisations more options today, while also giving them the flexibility to develop new products and customer experiences as their needs evolve.”
Building a more flexible ticketing platform
FTinstallments is part of a broader programme of development at Future Ticketing, focused on making it easier for clients to deliver more connected and flexible experiences for their customers. This year, we’ve also introduced Order to Seat, enabling customers to pre-order food and beverages while reducing the manual workload for teams.
Together, these developments are helping us build a platform that can adapt to the way venues, clubs and event organisations actually operate — and, more importantly, to the way their customers want to buy, attend and engage.
