Future Ticketing Teams Up with English League Clubs

Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town and Brian-Barry Murphy’s Rochdale AFC Set to Improve Fan Experience.

15 April 2020

Future Ticketing continues its expansion into English football with the signing of Fleetwood Town FC and Rochdale AFC. The multi-year ticketing partnerships with the cloud-based ticketing operator will commence for the new 2020-2021 season.

The move into English Football follows from Future Ticketing’s successful partnerships with clubs in the Scottish League, League of Ireland, Northern Ireland Football League and Vanarama League these agreements bring to over seventy the total number of UK organisations working with Future Ticketing.

Commenting, Liam Holton, CEO of Future Ticketing, said: “Future Ticketing has partnered very successfully with 23 professional Football Clubs in Scotland and Ireland over the last three years and an expansion into The English League is the next natural step for us.

Our football successes in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland gave us a great platform to expand further in the UK and so we are delighted that Fleetwood Town and Rochdale have become early adopters of our market leading software. Our guiding philosophy is to enable our clients to have control, accountability and transparency of their customer relationships and revenue streams. We work with Football Clubs in their digital development of modernizing their ticketing system through Data, Analytics, Our open Rest API, Insights and Integrations. We have found both clubs to put their fans at the centre of their plans across all aspects of the customer journey from booking seats to having a great match-day experience at the stadia.”

One of the EFL’s most progressive and innovative clubs Fleetwood Town managed by Joey Barton had enjoyed a very successful season prior to lockdown and are strong contenders for promotion to the Championship

Announcing the partnership CEO of Fleetwood Town Steve Curwood said “We’re really pleased to announce this new partnership between Fleetwood Town FC and Future Ticketing. Supporters can expect to see exciting changes to the way ticketing is done at the club from the start of the 2020/21 season, as we continue to enhance the experience of fans inside Highbury Stadium.”

Rochdale are one of the longest established clubs in the English League and made headlines this season with a great cup run including a draw with Newcastle United under young manager Brian-Barry Murphy.

Welcoming the partnership David Bottomley CEO of Rochdale AFC said “The priority of Frances Fielding our commercial Director and her team was and is to bring the best practice in sport to Rochdale fans. We are really pleased to team up with Future Ticketing, who not only offer sophisticated software but also bring expertise and understanding of digital ticketing and fan engagement from football and other sports. Our priority is to bring the best practice in sport to Rochdale fans. In particular, Future Ticketing offer the most efficient barcoded ticketing and scanning system, online ticket booking, allocated seating, print-at-home tickets, and mobile ticketing on phones and rewards for our loyal fans, members and season ticket holders”.

Future Ticketing is a leading provider of digital ticketing solutions to a range of sports events and venues in Ireland and the UK including events, racecourses, football and ice hockey. It is also the ticketing partner to a host of visitor attractions and outdoor shows.

 Notes About Future Ticketing:

Future Ticketing is a leading provider of ticketing software to Irish sporting organisations including Bohemians FC, Shamrock Rovers and 2019 League of Ireland Champions Dundalk FC. Shamrock Rovers was the first Irish Football club that worked with Future Ticketing and following on

From the success of Future Ticketing’s solution for Shamrock Rovers, a number of other League of Ireland clubs very quickly installed the system, including Dublin’s oldest club and 11 times champions Bohemians FC, reigning champions Dundalk FC, and Derry City, Bray Wanderers and Waterford FC.

As well as the League of Ireland Future Ticketing also provide ticketing solutions for Crusaders FC, Larne FC, Glentoran FC, Institute FC, Dundee United FC, Barrow AFC, St. Johnstone FC, Montrose FC and Altrincham FC

Future Ticketing supplies its software directly to its clients rather than acting as an agent for them. This gives businesses such as football clubs direct contact with their customers and an opportunity to control their customer journey from ticket purchase to entering the stadium.

Why Event Marketers need a top-class Ticketing Partner

As a marketing manager for an upcoming event, you’ve been tasked with achieving a specific revenue goal and getting a record number of attendees to the event. Regardless of whether it’s a football match, festival or visitor attraction; numbers will define your success.

Working with a ticketing partner who understands your goals will make all the difference. I’m sure there are a lot of things keeping you up at night, but here’s how a high-quality ticketing partner can help:

Branded Experience

Your role is to maintain and promote your event organisation’s brand. The brand is what your customer recognises, it has a relationship with your customer, and it differentiates you from competitors. You want to ensure that you can preserve your brand when it comes to selling tickets.

If your customer leaves your website to buy tickets, then you are losing that touchpoint with them. Cart abandonment is higher when a customer needs to leave your site because they lose trust. It creates uncertainty. You need to ensure that your brand is reflected throughout the whole customer journey.

Your brand is important to you, so it is important to us. With Future Ticketing, your customer remains on your website. Build a branded ticketing experience to keep you close to your customers.

Customers journey

As a marketer, you understand the customer’s journey from start to finish. You have done everything to get them to start taking the steps towards being a customer. Consider how many steps a customer needs to take before they can purchase their tickets, how simple is their journey? The more steps, the higher the chance of your customer giving up.

We’ve created a platform to reduce the number of steps a customer needs to take. We enable your customer to purchase tickets in four easy steps, helping you achieve record conversion rates.

You own your data

Imagine spending weeks on marketing campaigns, analytics, pixel tracking to lose the customer data through your ticketing platform. When you use Future Ticketing, you are the data controller, that means the relationship that you have built up with your customer remains yours.

Social selling

With so many of us glued to our phones all day, leveraging the power of social media can help boost sales. As great as it is to increase following, improve engagement rates and impressions; it’s turning likes to sales that make the difference.

Future Ticketing enables you to sell directly from your Facebook page and partner websites. You can leverage the power of your social media and event partners to sell more tickets.

Getting Ready for Kick-Off

As the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland is set to kick off tonight, all of us at Future Ticketing are excited to wish the clubs and their players the very best of luck, both on and off the pitch.

With the number of match goers on the rise from last year, we expect that the SSE Airtricity League will attract over 500,000 attendees in 2020. The big Dublin Derby, Shamrock Rovers vs Bohemians on Saturday is already sold out, and we are anticipating to see an increase in the number of sold-out games this season.

On average, attendances at League of Ireland matches powered by Future Ticketing’s digital platform grew by 13% last season. Last year, attendances at Bohemians were up 35%, Shamrock Rovers up 21% and St Patrick’s Athletic up 17%. A record 7,021 people attended the big derby game between Shamrock Rovers and Bohs at the Tallaght Stadium last August and Richmond Park, Oriel Park, The Showgrounds and United Park all hosted sell-out fixtures during the season.

Last year we worked with the top seven League of Ireland Premier Division Clubs and we are delighted to welcome newly-promoted Shelbourne FC to Future Ticketing this year. Over the three years that Future Ticketing has been involved in the league, there has been, continued growth in attendance and with season ticket sales for our clubs up 17% and pre-sales for this week’s games up 29% we’re confident that we will continue to see that number rise.

At Future Ticketing, we are honoured to partner with eight of the premier league clubs as they continue to grow their fan base and drive attendances at their home games.

As official ticketing partner, we get to shout for multiple teams as the season progresses. From everyone at Future Ticketing, we wish you well in 2020 both on and off the pitch and especially as you continue to drive up attendances and promote the sport.

SSE Airtricity League Set to score 500,000 fans in 2019

Spring is in the air and League of Ireland soccer is getting ready to kick-off once again. With three sellouts likely in the first ten days and exceptional presales through the clubs powered by Future Ticketing  we believe with a fair wind, the SSE Airtricity League can attract an attendance in excess of 500,000 in 2019.

Delving into the numbers shows that the underlying support base for the League remains robust. Last year, attendances grew by 2.5% to 441,466. In the two years since Future Ticketing first got involved with clubs overall ticket sales have risen by over 97,000 or up by 28% according to an excellent piece of analysis conducted by extratime.ie.

This analysis shows particularly good performances from Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers Waterford United, St. Pats and Bohemians where quality on the field and committed dynamic leadership off the field have driven increases in ticket sales. With both Dundalk V Sligo Rovers  and Waterford V Shamrock Rovers looking close to selling out tomorrow night and the Bohemians v Shamrock Rovers match next week sure to sell out the upward trend is set to continue.

With the likes of Seamus Coleman, James McClean, David Meyler, Stephen Ward, Graham Burke, Darryl Horgan and Shane Long – all of whom starred in the League –plying their trades across the water there is much evidence to support the thesis that standards in the League have risen significantly in recent decades. Greater progress in European competitions and improved UEFA coefficient has also raised the profile the game in Ireland and overseas.

Set against the backdrop of an economy that is set to grow by circa 4% in 2019 and with a rising population and no major international football tournament this summer, the optimists among us will be hoping that the 500,000 threshold is breached in due course.

At Future Ticketing, we are honoured to partner with eight of the premier league clubs as they seek to grow their fan base and drive attendances at their home games.

As the League gets underway, we take a particular pride that Future Ticketing’s advanced digital box office will facilitate ticket sales at all five opening SSE Airtricity Leagues games involving St. Pats V Cork City, Bohemians v Finn Harps, Derry City v UCD, Dundalk v Sligo Rovers and Waterford United v Shamrock Rovers.

As official ticketing partner, we get to shout for multiple teams as the season progresses. From everyone at Future Ticketing, we wish you well in 2019 both on and off the pitch and especially as you seek to drive up attendances and promote the sport.
