Environmental and Sustainability Policy

Introduction

Sustainability to Future Ticketing Ltd means meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability for future generations to satisfy theirs. As a result of the earth’s environment being under severe stress from uncontrolled human activity, Future Ticketing has put in place a clear long-term strategy, with attainable short-term goals. Every event we are part of we work within the terms laid out in this document.

We focus on three main pillars within our policy which are:

  • Environmental
  • Social
  • Corporate Governance

Future Ticketing Ltd aspires to minimise its impact on our environment and maximise the effective use of resources. We strive to achieve this by increasing communication and awareness of our efforts in accordance with this policy and fostering responsible environmental behaviour amongst staff, volunteers, and users at all levels.

Future Ticketing Ltd is committed not only to complying with applicable law in all of its operations but to minimise risks and impacts through the development of robust and documented systems to implement, measure, monitor, and disseminate excellent environmental performance both within its operations and to the broader community.

Purpose

Future Ticketing Ltd.’s Environmental Sustainability Policy aims to integrate a philosophy of sustainable development into all the organisation’s activities and to establish and promote sound environmental practice in our operations.

The purpose of this policy is to demonstrate the efforts that Future Ticketing is taking to remain environmentally conscious and invest in sustainability and wellbeing.

Future Ticketing Philosophy

Future Ticketing is an ethical, independent, and versatile software as a service company, expert in ticketing, access control, API integrations, event delivery and user experience. We set ourselves high standards and work honestly to improve the practice of environmental sustainability and digital transformation as a discipline both in our own practices and in promoting best practice amongst our clients, venues, and events. We have learned that this can only be achieved by sharing what we know and absorbing what others can teach us.

  • We promise to tell the truth and to act ethically
  • We promise to answer when customers ask for help
  • We promise to do our best and always work to high standards.

This philosophy can be applied to all areas of our business. With specific regard to our Environmental Policy, Future Ticketing recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. We are committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment and providing a safe and healthy workplace for our employees. We operate in compliance with relevant environmental legislation and strive for best practice in all that we do.

Policy

Future Ticketing Ltd commits itself to minimising its impact on our environment by focusing on the points outlined below:

  1. Consider environmental concerns and impacts in decision making activities
  2. Minimise waste and reduce, reuse, recycle as much as possible
  3. Continually improve and reduce our environmental impact
  4. Communicate our environmental commitments to our customers, clients, and employees
  5. Comply with and exceed all relevant regulatory requirements.
  6. Ensure the environment and our efforts to support sustainability are a fixed agenda item at our regular employee engagement meetings.

How do Future Ticketing put this policy into place in the day-to-day running of the business?

When it comes to the use of resources, staffing for events, communicating with clients and suppliers Future Ticketing Ltd focuses on doing the little things right. We minimise travel between our Manchester and Tullamore offices, we encourage video calls where possible for example.

Obviously, this policy is constantly under review and feedback is important to us. Feedback from customers, staff and suppliers allows Future Ticketing to measure and provides a real-world perspective on the success of our Sustainability Policy.

Energy and Water

We periodically review energy and water suppliers and take into consideration the source energy consumption and efficiency of new and existing products and will be considered. We will seek to reduce the amount of energy used.

Suppliers’ ethical policies will always be taken into consideration.

Office Supplies

We purchase products which do the least damage to the environment, and which have a positive impact on wider communities where practically and financially viable.

We source locally where possible to reduce CO2 emissions associated with delivery.

We always support local independent businesses where possible in our purchasing.

We aim to choose only ethical verified suppliers.

We dispose of electrical and hardware items in accordance with regulations.

General waste is recycled wherever possible using only licensed and appropriate organisations.

Paper

We became a paperless office in 2019 and in all our interactions with clients we encourage them to continually reduce paper use in the office.

We promote the use of recycled and recyclable ticket stock paper where possible. While off site all members of the team will reuse and recycle all paper where possible.

Transport

We will promote the use of travel alternatives such as video conferencing.

We actively facilitate home working and will make only trips which are deemed necessary for the development, extension, and improvement of business

We will consider our carbon footprint and annually research offsetting schemes.

Our company transport fleet is made up exclusively of Electric Vehicles.

Staff

All staff members attend a sustainability workshop prior to commencing their activities with Future Ticketing Ltd, this is part of the onboarding process as standard. As part of this sustainability workshop, we cover the use of our e-Ticket as part of an event. We encourage and support the use of digital receipts which can be sent by email to customers through the Future Ticketing Dashboard or through our EPOS devices. The importance of engaging staff at all levels within the organisation and working towards a shared vision is of massive importance to Future Ticketing.

Future Ticketing strongly believes in the recognition of staff contributions towards achieving targets and celebrating successes.

In terms of sourcing temporary staff for events, we endeavour to hire local people within the community the event is held. This not only reduces emissions on travel to events, but also supports local members of the community.

Alongside this, we encourage staff to carpool and use public transport when it comes to travelling to events.

Monitoring and Improvement

Documenting and being transparent is central to the measurement of success of our Sustainability Policy. We review this policy annually. The review process involves engaging with stakeholders involved with Future Ticketing.

Hosting workshops, engaging in meetings and site visits provide Future Ticketing an opportunity to gain insight into the current sustainability-oriented practice and allows the company to identify opportunities and develop them further.

We involve employees in the implementation of this policy, for greater commitment and improved performance. We educate and inform our employees about environmental issues that may affect their work.

We review this policy and related business issues in our monthly management meetings where appropriate.

When engaging with stakeholders and reviewing this policy, Future Ticketing has a specific focus on Impact Minimisation, Awareness Potential and Ease of Implementation.
