Future Ticketing announces partnership with Nimbus, bringing Access Card checks to the ticketing journey.
We’re delighted to announce our latest API-first integration with Nimbus, bringing Access Card functionality directly into the Future Ticketing platform. As Future Ticketing’s 78th API-first integration, the new Nimbus integration gives Future Ticketing clients who partner with Nimbus, the option to activate Access Card and Digital Access Pass (DAP) checks as part of their checkout experience.
The integration enables real-time checks on the validity of Access Cards and DAPs, while also giving customers the ability to sign up where required — helping make the process of booking accessible tickets simpler, more seamless and more inclusive. The Access Card Scheme is already improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of disabled people every year, helping them communicate their access requirements and gain better access to entertainment venues and events.
Nimbus is also one of the UK’s leading providers of disability-related training and consultancy, supporting businesses and organisations to improve accessibility and inclusion. For Future Ticketing clients partnering with Nimbus, the new Nimbus Access Card plugin and API documentation are now available, providing a powerful new way to build accessibility into the ticketing journey, rather than treating it as an afterthought.
“We are absolutely delighted to partner with Future Ticketing to transform the digital booking experience for disabled customers. Parity of service is at the heart of what we do, and this partnership ensures that access requirements are seamlessly recognised at the point of sale, giving disabled patrons the exact same convenience and independence when booking online as any other customer. At the same time, this integration safeguards essential reasonable adjustments, ensuring they reach the people who truly need them while protecting the integrity of the system against potential misuse. On a personal note, as the former captain of the Great Britain Para Ice Hockey team, I am immensely proud to see this scheme introduced at venues such as Braehead Arena. Ice sports and enjoying time on the ice are personal passions of mine, making this milestone particularly meaningful.”
We’re proud to be working with Nimbus to help make live entertainment and events more accessible, inclusive and easier to navigate for disabled customers.
“We’re delighted to welcome Nimbus to the Future Ticketing ecosystem and to make Access Card and Digital Access Pass checks part of the online ticketing journey. Accessibility should never be something customers have to navigate separately or explain repeatedly — it should be built into the experience from the outset. This integration is another important step towards creating a more seamless, inclusive and independent booking experience for disabled customers, while giving our clients the tools they need to deliver better access and better customer experiences.” – Ann Marie Guinan, Chief Marketing Officer, Future Ticketing
Better ticketing. Better access. Better experiences.
Additional notes:
What is the Access Card?
The physical card acts as a photo ID that can be used to easily communicate your access requirements to events and venues, so that the venues can provide accessibility to the needs of their visitors. It also works online with other platforms like ticketing systems to unlock the access facilities you need. The card shows a photo ID and translates a person’s disability or impairment into symbols, effectively highlighting the barriers they face and the reasonable adjustments they might need. The Access Card app provides you with a personalised directory of venues, with first-class accessibility information to help you plan your trips.
