Braveheart at Trim Castle

In August 2022, the residents of Trim celebrated the 25th anniversary of the movie ‘Braveheart’ with a spectacular open-air screening. This event was part of a weekend-long celebration honoring the film, which famously used Trim for much of its location shooting, putting the town on the international tourism map.

The weekend festivities included archery demonstrations, a pipe band concert, and a variety of market stalls, providing entertainment for visitors of all ages. To manage ticketing for the event, as well as for the Boyne Adventure Race held in the same month, Trim Tourism Network partnered with Future Ticketing.

Challenge
The organisers wanted to offer a range of admission options, including General Admission, Group discounts, Family Tickets, and complimentary tickets for sponsors. Additionally, they required an access system capable of scanning various ticket types and providing efficient access and capacity management.

Solution
The Future Ticketing platform met all the needs for this special event:

• Flexible Event Setup: The system allows for quick and easy event setup, accommodating different ticket types and discount levels, such as Group Tickets and Family Tickets.
• Advance Online Booking: Organisers could directly communicate with their audience before the event, providing useful information about travel, parking, and refreshments, thus preventing issues on the event day.
• Secure Scanning Technology: Future Ticketing scanners, operable on 3G, 4G, 5G, or Wi-Fi, were used to scan each ticket type. Each barcode could only be scanned once, preventing ticket fraud. Scanning data was available in real-time to organisers on mobile devices.

This collaboration with Future Ticketing ensured a smooth and successful anniversary celebration, enhancing the overall experience for attendees and reinforcing Trim’s reputation as a premier destination for both historical and contemporary events.
