Shamrock Rovers F.C.

Shamrock Rovers F.C. is the most successful football club in the Republic of Ireland. With a record 19 League of Ireland titles, including four in a row from 1984-1987, and a record 25 FAI Cups, Rovers have also supplied more players to the Republic of Ireland national football team than any other club.

Shamrock Rovers first partnered with Future Ticketing for the 2016-2017 season. They needed a new flexible ticketing system capable of fulfilling a range of demands including:

• improved fan experience
• quick and easy mobile phone sales
• the ability to monitor and amend sales
• revenue and access control in real-time
• management of memberships
• increased digital sales
• seamless and accountable access control
• eliminating fraud
• facilitating quick access for large attendances at multiple turnstiles around Tallaght Stadium

After the success of the first 3 years, in 2019, Shamrock Rovers worked with us to move to a data driven model. This included using Future Ticketing’s world-class open REST API to integrate Activity Stream into their system. Activity Stream tracks sales and promotions to analyse customer data and identify opportunities, potential new audiences and increase revenue. Alongside this, Rovers utilised tools within the Future Ticketing dashboard to clean, merge and delete incorrect data. This exercise paved the way for 3 years of record-breaking season ticket uptakes.

In 2021, due to the flexibility and innovation built into the Future Ticketing software, Shamrock Rovers F.C. was selected as one of the “Test Events” in Ireland allowing the return of fans to stadia.

The Shamrock Rovers and Future Ticketing relationship continues to develop moving forward into a new phase including the development of data analytics across ticketing and retail to gain a single 360° view and monitor return on investment of each customer.

On the back of the club’s success with Future Ticketing a number of other League of Ireland clubs very quickly moved to our system. These new clients included Dublin’s oldest club and eleven times champions Bohemians F.C., multiple champions Dundalk F.C., Derry City, Bray Wanderers, Sligo Rovers, St. Patrick’s Athletic and Waterford F.C.. In 2022, Future Ticketing partners with nine of the Premier Division’s ten clubs.

In 2022 in England we gained our first Championship club when Wigan Athletic were successfully promoted. Other English clubs we partner with include Fleetwood Town, Rochdale, Barrow, Oldham Athletic, Stockport County and Borehamwood. Future Ticketing entered the NI Football League in 2018 with Crusaders and subsequently partnered with, amongst others, Institute, Larne, Carrick Rovers and Newry City A.F.C.

In 2019, Future Ticketing successfully entered the Scottish Football league with Premier League club St Johnstone, and Championship club Dundee United. Since then they have been joined by clubs including St Mirren, Raith Rovers, Aidrieonians and Arbroath.
